My father, whose research was in ghost towns and mining towns of the southwest,
was always enthralling the family with colorful tales of Colorado, New Mexico, Texas history.
I never dreamed I'd actually one day move to Colorado--now I'm hooked on the area's history, too.
Below are a few of my favorite "local" history links:

Denver's History

The Colorado Historical Society
A wonderful resource for Colorado history
(Special thanks to Meg Van Hess, in their Archeology and Historical Preservation Program,
who's graciously given her time and expertise to help me research)

Gunslingers, Ghosts, and Gold
I threw this in because I love ghost stories about Colorado

Here are a few fave writing quotes, and some non-writing ones, too!

~Woody Allen

"It isn't necessary to have relatives in Kansas City in order to be unhappy."
~Groucho Marx

"The difference between the right word and the almost right word
is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug."
~Mark Twain

"It seemed the world was divided into good and bad people. The good ones slept better...
while the bad ones seemed to enjoy the waking hours much more."
~Woody Allen
