Dear Reader:

As some of you may have noticed, I completely let January slip by without updating my website--it's been busy with my husband studying for the bar exam, juggling PI work, writing, and general life stuff. In the midst of all this, we added a new member to our family: a cat named "Lucy." We were visiting our favorite cat place (where our Persian cats sometimes get groomed) when this cat started talking to us.  It just seemed to appear out of nowhere and began chattering away as though it had nine lives' worth of stories to tell. We asked the girls who run the place where this cat came from and they said her owner had dropped her off months ago and never returned to pick her up. Supposedly the owner moved to another state, and that was that.

So we brought the talkative Lucy home. Here's a photo of her sleeping on the bed:

She's doing all right with the other cats, and even cozying up (gradually) to the Rotweiller, who feels unjustly outnumbered with one dog and three cats in the house.
