Pac-Man and Hit-Men

Just when Gracie Winston’s life finally feels balanced with a booming PI business and an approaching wedding, she discovers a family secret that spins her world off its axis. Compelled to find a lost sibling, given up for a private adoption in 1986, Gracie gambles with the rules of time travel to return to 1986, a year where she already existed.

In 1986, while tracking her lost sibling, she in turn is tracked by an older, greedier Vallario who recognizes her from 1972 (book 1, Flashbacks and Paybacks). Rich from his stealth of the “Payback” gaming device, Vallario is building his empire as a gambling magnate via a bogus political action committee (PAC) that’s courting key legislators to legalize gambling in Colorado. The only person who stands in his way is Gracie who, in their last encounter in time, stole the murder weapon that can destroy Vallario and his dreams.

As Gracie follows clues leading to her lost sibling, she also plays a deadly game of hide-and-seek with Vallario as his hit-men, as persistent as the predatory icons in the ‘80’s PacMan video game, relentlessly track her from Colorado’s picturesque mining towns through Denver’s legislative haunts and shadowy underworld. In a race against time, Gracie risks her own future to unearth the shocking truth buried in the past.
